Japanese cherry blossomIn 2004, Copenhagen was donated 200 Japanese cherry trees from the Japanese Hans Christian Andersen Ambassador Seiichi Takahi. The trees are planted in Langelinie overlooking the water.

In Japan, Seiichi Takaki is known as the man behind the Danish bakery chain in Japan Andersen Bakery.

Over the years the Japanese cherry trees have grown big and beautiful, and enjoyed by the
citizen especially in April when they bloom. On this occasion the Japanese embassy arrange the Festival called Sakura where locals can learn more about the Japanese culture and traditions.

My own experience: The Japanese cherry trees are incredibly beautiful. I can warm recommend visiting Langelinie when the trees bloom.

In Danish: I 2004 fik København foræret 200 japanske kirsebærtræer af den japanske
H. C. Andersens ambassadør Seiichi Takahi. Træerne er plantet i Langelinie med udsigt til
vandet.

I Japan er Seiichi Takaki kendt for manden som står bag den danske bagerkæde i Japan
Andersen Bakery.

De japanske kirsebærtræer er igennem årene vokset sig store og smukke, og nydes af
købehavnerne især i april måned, hvor de blomstre. I den anledning arrangere den japanske
ambassade Sakura Festival hvor Københavnere kan lære den japanske kultur og traditioner at kende.

Mine egne erfaringer: De japanske kirsebærtræer er utrolig smukke. Jeg kan varm anbefale at besøge Langelinie når træerne blomstre.
