Sct. Nicolaj Church

Sct. Nicolaj ChurchSct. Nicolai church is Copenhagen’s third oldest church and dates from the beginning of the 1200s. In 1795 the church was subjected to a large fire and in 1805 ceased its function as a church.

Since then the church has had various functions such as fire station, naval station and in 1957 established Knud Pedersen, an art library in the building.

It is free to visit the church.

My own experience: I have cycled and gone several times past the church, but I never been inside the church. It is a church that I highly recommend.

In Danish: Sct.

inden i kirken.
