Nyhavn (New Harbour)

Nyhavn

Near Kongens nytorv is a small neighborhood with picturesque houses on the harbor.
Previously, Nyhavn were the place where sailors and girls from the provinces met and partied.
Nyhavn was for many years the city ’Red ligt District´.

Today Nyhavn is known for its cold beer, overlooking the old sailing ships and the many
restaurants.
Nyhavn is especially popular in the summer when you can sit in the sun from early morning
until late at night. Many are sitting on the dock or directly on the stone bridge into the evening where Nyhavn closes at midnight.

My own experience: It is a tradition for me to visit Nyhavn and eat an ice cream during the
summer. I enjoy looking at the beautiful colorful houses and the beautiful sailing ships lying along the quay.
